Canadian viral hepatitis elimination: Where are we now?

Presented in partnership with the Canadian Network on Hepatitis C (CanHepC) and the Public Health Agency of Canada.
This webinar highlights Canada’s viral hepatitis elimination progress and identifies remaining gaps. Speakers discuss successful implementation of strategies and future programming and policy directions to accelerate Canada’s path towards achieving viral hepatitis elimination.
Viral hepatitis, including hepatitis B and C, is a significant public health concern in Canada. As part of the World Health Organization’s Global Health Sector Strategies, Canada has committed to eliminate viral hepatitis as a public health threat by 2030 through key prevention, testing and treatment targets. With only five years remaining, national estimates and provincial/territorial progress reports provide essential insights into trends in incidence, prevalence, access to testing and treatment, as well as the populations most impacted.
