Self-directed course: Harm Reduction Fundamentals: Canada’s drug toxicity crisis

CATIE’s Harm Reduction Fundamentals: Canada’s drug toxicity crisis course aims to build knowledge of harm reduction for service providers working with people who use drugs (including support workers, outreach workers, nurses, workers with lived and living experience and managers).

This course provides an overview of Canada’s drug toxicity crisis, over the last decade. Participants will learn about the health impacts associated with the crisis, how we got here, and how communities across the country are leading innovative, life-saving responses. This course also examines challenges and barriers that continue to limit the impact of harm reduction policies and programs.

This course is self-directed, using online interactive e-learning units, videos, additional suggested readings and reflection questions.

Learners will receive a certificate upon completion of the course.
