Director, Quebec region
Working for over five years in Quebec community organizations in the field of HIV and sexual health, Martin attributes great importance to evidence-based information and the expression of that information in plain language and to self-empowerment.
Employed initially as PVSQ project coordinator for social media, mobile applications et Web site management, Martin then collaborated with Jorge Flores Aranda from the organization RÉZO on a research project to quantify the resources and needs of Montreal men who have sex with men (MSM) and who use methamphetamine. He also sat on the Community Advisory Committee of the CIHR’s HIV Trials Network, as well as the Board of directors of COCQ-SIDA.
Today, as National Alliance Project Coordinator with the Institut de développement du leadership positif (IDLP), he works with the Ontario AIDS Network (OAN), the Pacific AIDS Network (PAN) and the Coalition des organismes communautaires québécois de lutte contre le sida (COCQ-SIDA) to expand the leadership program for people living with HIV (PLWH). Martin also co-leads some of these educational initiatives while continuing to be involved in patient-focused research.
