This webinar is in French only.
A recording of a previous English webinar on this topic is available here.
Presented in partnership with the Canadian Hepatitis B Network.

This webinar explores the impact of hepatitis B on people living in Canada. Speakers distinguish hepatitis B from other types of viral hepatitis and highlight key recommendations for prevention, screening and treatment from the newly updated 2025 guidelines. The session also spotlights how frontline service providers can contribute to prevention, diagnosis and linkage to treatment and care of hepatitis B.
Hepatitis B is a preventable liver infection disproportionately affecting populations such as immigrants and newcomers from countries where hepatitis B is more common. In some cases, it can lead to chronic infection and result in serious health complications, such as liver disease and liver cancer. An estimated 262,000 Canadians were living with chronic hepatitis B at the end of 2021, yet fewer than 60% had been diagnosed.
