HIV/AIDS Treatment Thesaurus

As Canada's new HIV Knowledge Exchange Broker, we are working hard to develop services that meet your needs. In this period of transition, we ask you for your patience while we develop the Thesaurus with new terminology.

CATIE’s HIV/AIDS Treatment Thesaurus is a tool to help you find information. The Thesaurus will show you what subject words and phrases (“terms”) we use on our Web site and in our Library Catalogue. Every page on our Web site, and every item in our Library, is given terms from this list so that you can find documents better.

If you use the terms from our Thesaurus when you search our Web site or in our Library Catalogue, you will usually get better results.

To use our Thesaurus for searching, follow these steps:

  1. Look down this list (it's in alphabetical order) for the word (or phrase) that you would choose to describe what you're looking for
  2. Find the preferred term:
    • If the word (or phrase) is in bold, it is also the preferred term that we use
    • If the word (or phrase) is not in bold, this means that we do not use this term. Click on the word (or phrase) to find the preferred term that we use
  3. Search our Web site or go to our Library Catalogue Search page. Then, type in the preferred term to see a list of every page about that topic on our Web site

IMPORTANT: If you can't find what you're looking for, or run into any other problem, please tell us. Contact questions@catie.ca with your question.
