Transforming our practice: New knowledge, new strategies
Thursday, November 23 to Friday, November 24, 2017
- community response
- effective programs
- hepatitis C
- harm reduction
- health equity
CATIE is hosting its national, bilingual forum November 23 and 24, 2017. Our theme of Transforming our practice: New knowledge, new strategies is in response to a pressing need for dialogue and learning regarding the frontline implications of new knowledge and approaches in HIV and hepatitis C prevention, testing, treatment, care and support.
This event will bring together 400 people on the front lines of the Canadian response to HIV and hepatitis C, including people living with HIV, people with lived experience of hepatitis C, community workers, healthcare providers, public health practitioners, researchers, program planners and policy-makers. The CATIE Forum will be an opportunity to learn more about advances in HIV and HCV prevention and treatment science and programming knowledge, discuss the implications of this frontline work, share promising practices, and strategize about building and maintaining effective programs.
The CATIE Forum will also provide an opportunity to network, learn from one another, and develop new collaborations.

CATIE values the full participation of a diverse group of service providers and people living with HIV and hepatitis C at its conferences.* For this reason, we have created the CATIE Financial Assistance Program. Our selection process supports individuals who would otherwise not have the resources to attend. However, the resources available for financial assistance are limited.
Continental breakfast, lunch and nutrition breaks will be provided to all registrants during the conference only. Financial assistance will not include support for meals or any other extra costs.
Financial assistance may include registration, transportation and/or accommodations.
Unemployed persons living with HIV or hepatitis C may request a per diem of $35.00 to offset the costs of additional meals.
We cannot guarantee you will be awarded all or any of the items that you request.
Recipients of financial assistance will be expected to attend the entire event. If the recipient fails to do so, the individual will be responsible for all costs related to their participation at the event and future requests for financial assistance will not be considered.
Priority for financial assistance will be granted to:
- CATIE members;
- people living with HIV or hepatitis C;
- front-line service providers;
- people who can share information with people living with HIV or hepatitis C and community organizations;
- applicants who have demonstrated financial need;
- applications supported by the Executive Director, Board Chair or Manager of an organization working in the field of HIV/AIDS or hepatitis C;
- residents of Canada*
CATIE Individual Membership is required by all recipients of financial assistance. If you are not currently a CATIE Individual Member you may request your free membership online at http://www.catie.ca/en/about/membership.
