Denise Thomas, RN, BScN, MHS is a nurse with HIV and hepatitis C prevention, treatment and care experience. She spent five years working at the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS and at St. Paul’s Hospital acute care and primary care settings. From 2005-2010 she lived and worked in Sub-Saharan Africa with the Clinton Foundation as Clinical HIV Nurse Mentor and Regional HIV Clinical Support Advisor in Lesotho, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Malawi and India. From 2010-2013 she worked with Health Canada as HIV/AIDS Nurse Coordinator. Denise is the Vice-President of the Canadian Association of Hepatology Nurses (CAHN) and Co-Chair of World Hepatitis Day Vancouver 2014 and 2015. Since 2013 she has worked as the First Nations Health Authority’s Communicable Disease Nurse Specialist in HIV and Hepatitis C in BC.
